Amori Caution Clerics On Advising Ibori To Quit Politics

The political adviser to the former national chairman of Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Ighoyota Amori has faulted the General Overseer of Promise Kingdom Ministry, Bishop Godday Iboyi Okokporo over his attack on former Governor of Delta State, Chief James Onanefe Ibori through what he considered as a fake and false prophecy.

This was in reply from Amori to the cleric while preaching in the auditorium of his church during one Sunday service advising Ibori to quit politics or risk embarrassment and rebellion from his followers.

Bishop Okokporo was quoted to have said, “You have done well as a man, you have brough development to your people, but let me tell you that it is time to step aside and apply wisdom in your political life.”

I am seeing people who are beneath you, accusing you that you cannot be the leader of the state politics forever, if you step aside, you will have more respect and honour because I see you talking and no one seems to be taking your wise counsel and then they will begin to see you as a threat”.

Reacting to the cleric’s prophecy, Chief Senator Ighoyota Amori in a statement described the prophecy as fake and false, political motivated and highly satanic which from all intents and purposes is from the pit of hell, adding that, “For sure, he was playing a well drafted script which he claimed to be divine prophecy.

Amori likened the prophecy of Bishop Okokporo to some of the political prophecies of Rev. Fr Ejike Mbaka of the Adoration Centre in Enugu, saying that, “In this hard time when the economic downturn is taking a knock on every facet of life, the churches are not left our”.

“so many pastors and general overseers are not finding things easy in their various churches hence some have resorted to fake prophecies and taking a cue from Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka of Adoration Centre, Enugu to make false prophecies in collaboration with some politicians to slander and antagonize imaginary enemies Amori added.

He advised Bishop Okokporo to stay clear from politics, adding that the clergy man chose the wrong person to attack. “I will advise Bishop Okokporo to restrict himself to his divine calling or drop his garment and join the political gloomy waters to understand clearly that we have seen a lot of people like him”.

Amori cautioned Bishop Okokporo not to allow politicians to use him the way they did to Rev Fr Ejike Mbaka as the end is always disastrous.

He maintained that, there have and there will be no disagreement between Ibori and the political class of the state and nation, adding if that is what Bishop Okokporo is looking for, he will be very much disappointed.

Ibori has never been accused by anyone of interfering with the day to day running of the party tor the state government.
