Chairman of Aniocha South Local Government Area of Delta State, Chief Isaac Anwuzia, said a country that wants to succeed must carry youths along.
He made the remarks during the election of Ogwasi-Uku Youths Development Association (OYDA) at Ogwhasi-Uku.
The chairman who was represented by the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Aniocha South Local Government Area, Prince Mike Okwufuluze, said that youths would be given more recognition in all areas during the Ogwasi-Uku youth election
He said that youths were the bedrock of every nation, adding that government would recognise them more, to enable them contribute their quota in national development.
While describing Ogwashi-Uku youths as peace-loving, he commended them for conduction a peaceful election, which he said was free and fair, adding that their peaceful conduct during the election was pointer that they had come of age.
He congratulated the winners, Comrade Stanley Chiedu and his team for their victory, urging him to carry everybody along to enable Ogwashi-Uku move to greater heights.
Mr. John Osamor, Mr. John Nwekete, and the representatives of the President General, Ogwash-Uku Development Association (ODA), Mr. Ndikawu Ashinze who witnessed the election, all described the election as peaceful, free and fair and called on the youths to be focused and work hard for the development of the area.
The ODA representatives described the newly elected president, Comrade Stanley Chiedu as a peaceful young man that had the interest of the people and area at heart, adding that he should use his position to think of what he would do to ensure the area moved to greater heights.
The ODA representatives lauded the out gone president, Comrade Emmanuel Nwani for his successful tenure, saying that Nwani’s tenure brought peace and notable development to the area.
The outgone president, Comrade Emmanuel Nwani, who spoke to newsmen shortly after the election, said that the election had to be conducted because according to him, there was no need of causing crisis in the community by staying put.
Comrade Emmanuel Nwani said that it was only peaceful coexistence that development could be attracted to the area and called on the new executive to work as a team with the fear of God and move the area forward.
Comrade Stanley Chiedu, the newly elected President General, Ogwashi-Uku Youths Development Association, thanked God for their peaceful election.
He lauded the past president, Comrade Emmanuel Nwani for given all the candidates a level playing ground to contest and assured that he would work hard with his team to improve upon the achievements of the past leader.
Nwani called oh his co contestants to join hands with him to work and move Ogwashi-Uku forward, adding that they were all one big family.
