Chief Simpson S. Obruche, prominent Urhobo leader in the United Kingdom and Chairman of Urhobo Historical Society (UHS) London and Europe, has said with the death of Professor Peter Ekeh, prominent Urhobo scholar and founder of Urhobo Historical Society (UHS), the Urhobo Nation has lost another Mukoro Mowoe.
In his spontaneous reaction when reached for comments on the death of Professor Peter Ekeh, Chief Obruche, who is also a longtime friend and associate of Professor Ekeh, said,” Prof. Peter Ekeh’s death is sad and shocking.
The Urhobo people have lost another Mukoro Mowoe says Chief Obruche. I pray to God for his replacement.”
Speaking further, Chief Obruche said “Peter Ekeh was a great man. A very rare character in Urhobo land.
The man was a wonderful person. I have never seen a man devoted to Urhobo Cause than that man”.
Professor Ekeh Peter passed away on Tuesday, November 2020.
A professor of African American Studies, Prof. Peter Ekeh, who hailed from Orogun in Ughelli North local government area of Delta State, reportedly passed on, on Tuesday at age 83.
