Enerhen Community Development Committee (ECDC) has elected new executive excos led by Mr. Matthew Buluku as chairman to pilot the affairs for the next three years.
Chief Francis Odeje, the eldest who inaugurated the new executives commenced the people of Enerhen Community for the peaceful and transition of their leadership even as he urged others to emulate them.
Odeje lauded the outgoing executives for maintaining peace and unity in the community adding that, they (the immediate past executives) equally established a cordial relationship with the indigenous and the international companies operating in Enerhen community.
Odeje tasks the new executives to follow the line of development, noting that no meaningful development can take place in an unconducive environment.
While calling on the new executives to run an all-inclusive government and carry all sundry along in the scheme of things, Odeje said they should shun divisiveness, selfishness and any act that is capable of causing disaffection and malice among their followers.
“I call on the residents and indigenous of Enerhen community to extend the same cooperation given to the outgoing executives to the new executives to enable them perform and develop the community.
The chairman of ECDC, Mr. Matthew Buluku who spoke with newsmen said that having been elected and sworn in as chairman, his mission is to empower the youths and also ensure that there is peace among the people of Enerhen community and Uvwie Kingdom.
We shall discuss with them as soon as possible.”
He insisted that he won’t disappoint the people in discharging his responsibilities adding that: “I will not leave them behind and we will work together to achieve our desire goals.
I will ensure there is no betrayal confidence bestowed on me and crime rate will reduce in the community thereby fostering peaceful environment and more development.
Buluku showered praises on Enerhen community youths and the women for giving him the opportunity to serve adding that his executives will bring development to the community and they are prepared for the task ahead.
In his comments, the Secretary of Enerhen community, Mr. Peter Police said he will get in touch with the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC) and the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) to bring visible development to the community adding that he will work closely with Bukulu, and the youths, women and elders will be empowered.
The executives sworn in are, Matthew Buluku, Chairman; Justice Odeje, Vice Chairman; Peter Police, Secretary; Sunny Obakponuta, Public Relation Officer (PRO); Ovie Omita, Financial Secretary; Lucky Odjeni, Treasurer.
