Heavy rain storm recently caused havoc at Isiokolo, the headquarters of Ehiope East local government council area thereby destroying the council secretariat and other houses in the community, just as the council workers called on Delta State government to renovate it for them.
Speaking, a source in the community said, “Around 3:30pm on the faithful day, I was with my friends in one of the drinking joints when the rain started falling gradually, the rain was not even a heavy one, but because the wind was very heavy it blown off the secretariat roof, when the wind was blowing it was so heavy that we started running for our dear life”
He also hinted that, when the storm ceased, I decided to be on my way home, but I stopped briefly at the council secretariat, and I was very surprised with what I saw, all the roof in the council secretariat were blown off, the source added.
According to them, “We are appealing to Senator Ifeanyi to come to our rescue as a result of this natural disaster, as you can see now our office roof had blown off and we are outside under the shade doing our work which is not fair because it can rain any time” they stated.
They also said, gov. Okowa should try as much as possible to consider them and renovate the for them, noting that, is not ideal for a worker to be under the shade while carrying out his duty as a council worker, they lamented.
