EXIT POLICE FROM CONTRIBUTORY PENSION SCHEME PASSED 2ND READING – HON WAIVE

Hon (Rev) Francis Waive, representing Ughelli North, South and Udu Federal constituency on 16th of September 2021 presented a bill seeking to EXIT POLICE FROM CONTRIBUTORY PENSION SCHEME.
The said bill EXIT POLICE FROM CONTRIBUTORY PENSION SCHEME by Hon Waive passed it second reading today 21st September 2021 on the floor of the House of Representatives.

The EXIT POLICE FROM CONTRIBUTORY PENSION Bill seeks to amend Section 5, sub-section 1 paragraph (a) of the Pension Reform Act of 2014, to include the Nigerian Police Force as part of the categories of persons exempted from the Pension Scheme.
According to Hon Waive, the main objective of the EXIT POLICE FROM CONTRIBUTORY PENSION Bill is to remove the Nigerian Police Force from the pension scheme to ensure proper remuneration at retirement and also make room for improved welfare for serving police officers.
He said: Officers and men of the Nigeria Police deserve more than they presently get especially in the light of all the sacrifices they currently make to national security.
