Chief Francis Atanomeyovwi, Honourable, A Federal Commissioner, National Assembly Service Commission, has commended Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, DSP for the proposal to ensure 30 and 35percent of youths are appointed into cabinet positions in State and Federal Executive Councils respectively, noting that the proposal, if implemented will clinically end youth restiveness in the polity.
In a press statement released to newsmen on Friday, Chief Francis Atanomeyovwi described the initiative by Omo-Agege to bring young politicians into the heart of political resolution so as to carry the younger generations along, give them a sense of belonging and promote inclusive governance for peace, progress and all-round development in the polity.
‘’This is certainly a well-thought-out idea for our dynamic youth inclusiveness in the Nigeria constitutional amendment. For the youths to be given their pride of place to participate in decision making will uplift the future generation, give them hope and promote modern instruments of tackling challenges and social-economc endeavours.
Therefore, integrating the Nigerian youth into the governance of our dear nation at such a time as this is breaking-taking news in our society’’, Francis Atanomeyovwi said.
He added that the novel idea from the innermost recesses of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege will definitely generate a new ideological framework for improved relations and better and well-informed reflections of the dreams and aspirations of the younger generation.
‘’I think the Nigerian youth participating in the three tiers of governments is a welcomed development, it will definitely fast track economic growth in our country. They will be more committed, seeing themselves as real major stakeholders in the affairs of governance of their fathers’ land rather than mere onlookers or playing a second-class role. Their intellectual capability is a gateway to political freedom from evil manipulation within this country and in foreign corridors of power.
‘’I must appreciate most sincerely the Deputy President of the Senate, His Excellency, Most Distinguished Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, for his effective and efficient service delivery as a true democrat of sound mind. God bless the DSP, for the rare opportunity before him to be an instrument through whom amendment to the Nigerian constitution would be made possible for Nigeria youths to prove their worth in the governance of their fatherland’’, he added.
