Chief Herbert Majemite Delta State House of Assembly hopeful for Uvwie State Constituency ha said that Chief Great Ovadje Ogboru has been winning the Governorship elections in Delta State and 2019 governorship election will not be exception, just as he said he will win the state assembly election as well.
Leaders and members of the Delta Democratic Youth Movement (DDYM) has endorsed him as sole candidate for Delta State House of Assembly Uvwie Constituency.
Herbert Majemite said “I will win my election, as for Chief Great Ogboru he is the next governor of Delta State, he has not lost any election before now, so 2019 will not be different”.
They sai that after studying Chief Herbert Majemite manifesto, they discovered that it is people oriented and also a grassroots politician that is why they came to identify with him.
Comrade Emmanuel Ose, PRO of the group said that they only identify with progressives, saying they came to let him know that Uvwie people believe in him and those who have been stealing his mandate have not given the people a voice in the state assembly.
On his part Comrade David Eki expressed bitterness over the marginalization of Uvwie and Urhobo, especially by institutions in Uvwie land urging Chief Herbert Majemite to give adequate representation when elected.
Responding, Chief Herbert Majemite expressed his willingness to work with them, disclosing that, he has been short changed by the PDP since 2005 when he contested local government elections with both Hon Evelyn Oboro and Henry Baro.
Adding that he decided to take a shot at the state house of assembly this time around since state assembly election is conducted by INEC which will be difficult for them to manipulate.
He acknowledged the fact that Uvwie man is in managerial positions in most of the establishments in Uvwie land, assuring that he is going to the state assembly to correct the situation and promised to create skill acquisition Centre to check youth restiveness in Uvwie and promised not to let the people down if elected.
