Mr. Ediri R. Idimi, 2023 Delta State guber aspirant, has disclosed that the Delta Industrial Development Master Plan (DIDMP) will form the basis of his campaign, stressing that, the Ministry of Trade, Investments and Industrial Development will be created if he becomes the State governor in 2023.
When it is established, the Ministry shall be allocated 25% of Delta State Revenues for Industrial Development Projects. The Ministry shall be responsible for the Sapele Industrial City FTZ, Asaba Industrial City FTZ, Ogidigbe EPZ, Burutu Deep Sea Port FTZ and the Agriculture plantations to be developed by his government in each LGA of Delta State”
Idimi asserted that the Ministry shall also be responsible for the Delta Petroleum Corporation Limited, Delta Palm Oil Corporation Limited and other state owned industries to be established adding that: “It shall be responsible for the existing agencies and the institutions like the Delta State Investment Development Agency (DIDA) and the Warri Industrial Business Park (WIBP), Ejeba and Delta Export and Import Fund (DEXIM) to be established”.
We want to use this opportunity to specially thank Gov. Okowa Ifeanyi for the creation of DIDA.
The establishment of DIDA is a great milestone and accomplishment for the industrial development of Delta State that we intend to build on. Moreover, the efforts of the former gov. Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan in kick-starting the development of the WIBP is remarkable towards the industrialization of Delta State which we intend to build on come 2023.”
It is worthy to mention here that our initial consultation with Uduaghan shows there are whole lots of lessons and experiences that can be learnt from him and the previous governments.
