IDOGHO- NOT CONSULTED FOR SELECTION OF CONSTABULARIES

Idogho Not Consulted For Selection Of Constabularies

The President General of Oruarivie-Abraka Kingdom, Hon. (Chief) Emmanuel Idogho, has made it loud and clear that the leadership of the kingdom Oruarivie-Abraka was not consulted in the selection of the four (4) constabularies attached to the area recently, out of the three hundred and seventy-eight (378) Special Constabularies presented after training by the Delta State Government at the Events Centre, Asaba during the Community Policing Sensitization Awareness Campaign held on Wednesday, January 13, 2021.

Chief Emmauel Idogho made this complaint against the background that the constabularies posted to each locality were expected to have been selected by the leaders of such locality, and after training were to be sent to their localities for effective community policing among their own people that are well known to them.

But in the case of Oruarivei-Abraka, according to Chief Idogho, the police imposed the four attached constabularies, one of whom is from Obiaruku in Ukwuani, on the kingdom instead of involving the leadership in the selection of the candidates.

“Let me sound it clear that the Ovie of Oruarivie-Abraka Kingdom, His Royal Majesty Akpomeyoma Majoroh, Ojeta II, and the entire tradition council members are unaware of the selection arrangement.

So, if anything adverse occurs with the activities of these four imposed constabularies, the leadership of Oruarivie-Abraka should not be questioned” Idogho submitted.

Speaking further in his chat with newsmen, the President General absolved the current Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Abraka, CSP Shaba Aliyu, from blame in the selection process, saying with certainty it was the former DPO, CSP Hassan Isah Jaiye and his Station Officer, that did the selection of candidates for constabularies, before he was transferred away from the Abraka division.

With great delight, the President-General extolled the fine qualities of the current DPO saying: “The new DPO of Abraka, CSP Shabe Aliyu, is a very hardworking and efficient officer who is policing the community very well.

He also has a pleasant personality and is getting along well with the leadership of the kingdom.

This is the ideal type of DPO we want here, and we encourage him to continue with his good works happily.
