Chief Ighoyota Amori, the Otota of Mosogar Kingdom and Chairman Delta State Capital Agency has urged the Umogu Descendants Union to unite Urhobo in order to speak with one voice on issues affecting Urhobo nation as a people.
Chief Ighoyota Amori gave this charge when the union paid a consultation visit to him on the way forward for Urhobo at his Mosoar resident Ethiope West local government area recently.
Chief Ighoyota Amori expressed confidence and satisfaction on the caliber of Urhobos led by Frank Ajoebena, Chairman and Hon Gibson Akporehe, secretary of the union, politicians, academic and business men.
The former senator thanked the group for the initiative and advice that what Urhobo need at this time is the coming together of all Urhobo since what is at stake cannot be left for the few to handle.”
What is at stake right now that, Urhobo must come together, and if we do that certainly we will be victorious. We are going to get it right this time around whether Okpe, Sapele, Ughelli, Udu or Uvwie people and that is why we must come together as one people so that we can be victorious.”
Presenting his speech on behalf of the group, it’s spokesman, Chief Erute said, first they wish for unity of the entire Urhobo nation but added that the Union was formed to check and correct some political, social and economic imbalance in the system even though everybody is Urhobo.
He stated that, there are certain things that need to be addressed to avoid ill-feelings within the system that made up Urhobo nation.
Highpoint of the occasion was the presentation of the union position paper by AVM Frank Ajoenena to Chief Ighoyota Amori.
