J.atete Fc Win Zenith Fc 1 0 In Anirah Football Tournament

j.Atete FC of  Warri has won the 3rd edition of the Felix Anirah football tournament with a 1-0  win against Zenith FC of Sapele at the Sapele Township Stadium in Sapele local government area of Delta State.

The Anirah football tournament was won by Udu Jeremi based team who defeated Zenith FC of Sapele with a second half free kick in the 46th minute after first half ended goalless.

J.Atete FC carted home the first prize of N2million naira as grand prize after winning Anirah football tournament while Zenith FC, who is the runner up go N1.5 million naira and Future Stars got N1million naira for their effort in their place.

Speaking to newsmen earlier, the member representing Sapele constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Felix Anirah said, the next edition will be bigger with the prize money from N2million naira to N5million naira.

The 4th edition will capture the entire South-South region with unlimited participants Anirah added

Anirah said, the FAFT tournament as you can see is already a brand and any investor can take advantage of it and join the effort to take it to the next level.” he said.

Former Super Eagles captain, Austine Eguaveon lead ex-international against retired professional players to a goalless novelty match.

Austine Eguaveon while commending Chief Felix Anirah and the organizing committee for their effort and a job well done said “This should be encouraged so that the standard will be heightened because tournaments like this is where players like us who represent the country and played to the highest lever were discovered.

Those present at the Anirah football tournament are: Hon. Solomon Ighrakpata, State House of Assembly Member who represented the Speaker of DTHA; Hon. Michael Diden, Chairman DESOPACEC; Rev. Fr. Christopher Ekabo, Parish Priest of St. Patrick Catholic Church Sapele; Chief Charles Ufouma Obule; Goodwin Dodorume, Commissioner for Sports Edo State and Chairman local organization committee of FAFT; Kenneth Nwobucha, Chairman, Delta Football Association, DFA and host of others were in attendance.
