Former Sapele Okpe Community Chairman, Hon. Moses Ogodo has denied collection
N20million naira from Hon. Michael Diden over a land purportedly sold by some of his family members, saying the attempt by Okpe Land Trusty to suspend him without investigating the story was not proper and that he was wrongly suspended by the Sapele Okpe community land trust association
Ogodo, who spoke to journalists recently, said “how can the Land Trust say they are suspending me over land issues, when it’s obvious I was not involved, those who sold the said land are my family members and if Okpe Land Trust investigates they will know the truth.”
The Okpe youth leader also narrated how he had to battle other family members over the piece of land situated around St Malachy along Ugbeyiyi road, “since the land was my grandfather’s own, we had to battle others over the legal sale and some of my brothers sustained injury in the process, how can Okpe Land Trust now turn around to accuse me of selling that land.
“I will not accept this tarnishing of image, I am prepared to prove myself, I did not accept 20million naira from Diden, neither did I partake in selling of any land” adding that though the committee has summoned him to appear on Sunday, he does not believe the committee will be fair in the judgment Ogodo says.
