Residents of Oyede community in Isoko local government area Delta state have complained the poor state of healthcare center in the community as they appealed for government intervention.
The Oyede residents who described the heath center in the community as a death trap called on the state governor, governor Okowa to urgently come to their aid.
Speaking to newsmen, an indigene of Oyede community and a former Councilor, Hon. Omuta Ogaga, said the health center which was constructed over 60 years ago has become decrepit, adding that, the dilapidated state of the health center has kept the community far from having access to quality health center.
“This health center which is the only health facility in the community was built for the community over 60 years ago and the dilapidated state of the facility is given Oyede community serious concerns.”
Another resident of Oyede community, Stanley Iwaroho, noted that government and elites in the community have failed to intervene, thus making the facility unusable.
“The bad condition of the health center in the community has made it impossible for the people to access proper medical care and you know health is wealth.
“We are calling on the state government, Isoko North local government council, DESOPADEC and NDDC to look into the sorry state of the health center to help relieve our people from the stress of seeking healthcare service far form home” Iwaroho stated.
