Yoruba Community Pays Tribute To Orodje Of Okpe

The Yoruba community living in Okpe Kingdom and across Delta State have paid tribute to the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom, Major General Felix Mujakperou Orhue 1 CFR mni (rtd).

The Yoruba people that visited was led by one of their leaders, Prince Omoba Julius Aladaniyi and play presented by the Okpe Monarch at the ultra modern event hall in the Orodje Palace, Orerokpe headquarters of Okpe LGA of Delta State.

Prince Aladaniyi who spoke briefly at the ceremony said they came to express their happiness to the Orodje for the melodious way the Okpe people accommodated them just as they appreciate His Royal Majesty for the warm reception accorded to them.

Aladaniyi noted that all the Yoruba in Delta State have come to identify with the traditional rulers in their various communities where they reside, adding that, the Yoruba recently elected their leader (Asiwaju) Mr. Innocent Babatunde to pilot the affairs of the community in Okpe Kingdom.

Responding, HRM Orhue 1, CFR mni noted that the Okpe people have always live harmoniously with strangers in his domain, adding that, Okpe Kingdom is the only Kingdom in Delta State with two LGA (Okpe and Sapele).

Orhue 1, said Okpe people are very friendly and he sees no reason why he won’t welcome them (Yoruba people) into Okpe, adding that, the Yoruba are very friendly with their host communities and he (Okpe monarch) spent most of his life in Yoruba land before he became the traditional ruler of Okpe Kingdom.
