With so many Nigerians asking the question as to whether they are actually going to be getting the Federal Government’s N50k monthly cash relief, OPay has laid out exactly how eligible beneficiaries can check their status and has also warned customers against misinformation and potential scams.
The digital financial services platform has confirmed that only qualified beneficiaries selected for the initiative will receive a pop up notification on their OPay app homepage. Those who do receive the notification are to simply click on it to complete the required steps.
In a statement posted on Tuesday, OPay made it clear that it has no role in determining who is eligible for the programme. They stated that anyone who doesn’t see the notification feature in their app is not eligible for the cash.
The ₦50k monthly Federal Government cash support is only available to eligible citizens. Eligible customers will see a pop-up notification on their OPay app home page. Please click on the pop-up to proceed with the next steps.
OPay also advised customers who wished to enquire further or require assistance to contact NERSI via their helpline on 07000222222.
The company has reiterated that only the eligible beneficiaries will be able to access the scheme and have urged customers to rely on the official channels of communication for any information relating to the intervention.
