In a highly anticipated revelation, Tesla’s President, Elon Musk, once again thrilled Dogecoin supporters. He subtly hinted at the possibility of Dogecoin being used for Tesla payments.
During the grand unveiling of Elon Musk’s Tesla’s futuristic autonomous vehicle, the “Cybercab,” a Shiba Inu was displayed prominently. It is Dogecoin’s iconic symbol. This display set the Dogecoin community abuzz.
Musk made an entrance in the Cybercab on a Hollywood film set. This caught the attention of both car enthusiasts and crypto fans alike. Elon Musk showcased Tesla’s push for autonomous driving technology. However, it was the Shiba Inu’s appearance that fueled speculation about Dogecoin’s potential integration.
The Dogecoin community took to social media. They used platforms like X (formerly Twitter) to dissect every detail of the event. They believe that Tesla may soon allow Dogecoin as a payment option for its autonomous vehicles.
The official Dogecoin account reacted with excitement, dubbing the vehicle the “Shiba Inu taxi.” Popular Dogecoin advocates like DogeDesigner (@cb_doge) and Sir Doge of the Coin (@dogeofficialceo) enthusiastically speculated about Tesla’s plans. Many wondered if Elon Musk was preparing to announce Dogecoin as an official payment method for the Cybercab. “Did Elon just say we can buy a Tesla Cybercab with Dogecoin?” DogeDesigner tweeted, further fueling the speculation.
The Cybercab, a two-seater vehicle with scissor doors, is Tesla’s latest vision for autonomous transportation. The car is fully autonomous. It has no steering wheel or pedals and features a minimalist interior. A central touchscreen is used for controlling the vehicle’s functions. One notable feature is its wireless charging capability, which eliminates the need for cables. While specifics on range and battery capacity remain undisclosed, Elon Musk indicated that production would begin in 2026. The target price is under $30,000. He also mentioned that the cost of a Cybercab ride is as low as $0.20 per mile, a fraction of what public transportation currently charges.
Elon Musk revealed the “Robovan” in addition to the Cybercab. It is a self-driving minibus designed to carry 20 passengers. This further solidifies Tesla’s commitment to transforming public transport. The event also featured advancements in Tesla’s humanoid robot project, Optimum. Musk hinted that Optimum could play a significant role in the future of automation.
The growing excitement within the Dogecoin community, the cryptocurrency itself seen some movement, with Dogecoin price currently holding at $0.1265. While the speculation continues to build, concrete news on Dogecoin’s potential integration with Tesla remains to be seen.
