CP Yemen John Onyeniyi, the Delta State Police Commissioner, is asking residents to work together with the police to fight crime, saying that keeping the state safe is a shared responsibility.

On Wednesday, June 1st, 2026. CP Yemen was welcomed by the Area Commander, divisional commanders, vigilante groups, community leaders, and other stakeholders.

The event featured cultural performances, comedy acts, and goodwill messages from students of the Police Children School.

However, CP Yemen thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his ongoing support of the Nigeria Police Force and restated the command’s commitment to keeping people and property safe.

He, however, encouraged residents to share helpful information with the police, protect public infrastructure, and guide young people away from drug abuse, cultism, and other harmful activities.

He also warned against spreading unverified information on social media and emphasised the need to check facts to avoid causing panic. The Commissioner called for peaceful living, respect for the law, and working together to make the community safer.

In closing, Onyeniyi thanked everyone for their support and promised that the Delta State Police Command will stay committed to peace, security, and prosperity throughout the state.
