The ATSSSAN and the NUATE in the aviation industry hereby issue a final 7-day ultimatum to all airline operators and organisations in default of the statutory 5% TSC.
Unions in Nigeria’s aviation sector have given airline operators and other organisations seven days to pay the required 5% Ticket Sales Charge (TSC), warning that failure to do so could disrupt the industry.
The Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (ATSSSAN) and the National Union of Air Transport Employees (NUATE) set this new deadline after their previous 14-day notice was ignored.
The unions said airlines have shown “willful non-compliance” and warned that not paying the levy has left aviation agencies short of funds, hurt workers’ welfare, and increased safety risks in Nigeria’s airspace.
Union leaders Frances Akinjole (ATSSSAN) and Odinaka Igbokwe (NUATE) said that if the debts are not paid within seven days, workers will start picketing at the offices of those who have not complied.
