
2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON)
Several teams have already confirmed their places in the Round of 16 at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Meanwhile, the group stage continues to deliver intense competition across Morocco.
First, host nation Morocco was among the first teams to secure qualification. They capitalized on home advantage and strong support, allowing them to deliver composed performances in Group A. Shortly after, Mali also booked a place in the last 16 as they collected enough points from the same group.
In addition, Egypt, Africa’s most successful AFCON nation, ensured qualification from Group B. They achieved this through steady results that highlighted both their experience and game management. Similarly, South Africa joined them after edging past group rivals to secure second place.
Meanwhile, in Group C, Nigeria confirmed their Round of 16 spot with authoritative displays. Specifically, they showcased their attacking strength and physical presence. As a result, the Super Eagles progressed with a game to spare, which underlined their status as one of the tournament favorites.
Furthermore, Algeria sealed qualification from Group E, thus continuing their strong record in recent AFCON tournaments. Their balanced approach between defense and attack proved decisive in securing knockout football.
