2027: APC Delta Central Elders, Leaders Council Endorses Emerhor as Senatorial Candidate

With the APC primaries coming up, the Delta Central Elders and Leaders Consultative Council (DCELCC) has given its unanimous support to Olorogun O’tega Emerhor, OON. He is the only candidate for the Delta Central Senatorial seat.

The group said they chose Emerhor for his sacrifices and his role in helping the APC grow since its founding.

They also pointed out that Emerhor’s wide network of federal contacts, his policy experience, and his past work with others make him the best choice for the seat. Furthermore, they believe he can work well with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori. This will help bring more federal projects to Delta Central.

The DCELCC made this announcement on Wednesday. It was at a meeting held at the home of its chairman, Chief Sylvester Kowho, in Effurun GRA, Uvwie, Delta State.

At the endorsement meeting, Council Chairman Chief Sylvester Kowho said that members had all agreed to support Olorogun O’tega Emerhor as the party’s only candidate. This decision came before the primaries.

Kowho explained that the group had reviewed the qualifications of all the aspirants at an earlier meeting before choosing Emerhor. He described Emerhor as a patriotic and loyal party leader who has greatly helped the APC grow.

Raising the motion for endorsement, the Council Spokesman, Chief Thomas Akpodiete, said Olorogun O’tega Emerhor was the founding father of the APC in Delta State. He is also the sole financier of the party despite not being in government.

Chief (Hon.) Silver Savbede supported the motion, and Chairman Kowho held a voice vote, which was unanimous.

Chief Sylvester Kowho, the chairman of the APC Delta Central Elders and Leaders Consultative Council, encouraged members to return to their communities, wards, and units. There, they should garner support for Olorogun O’tega Emerhor.

He reminded members that the upcoming primaries would be held either by consensus or by direct vote.

The meeting was attended by top APC elders and leaders from all eight local governments in Delta Central. These included Sir (Prince) Benson Mebitaghan, Chief Thomas Akpodiete, Chief Silver Savbede, Col. Abeke (Rtd), Okakuro (Capt) Clifford Ikpikpini, Olorogun John Onojeharho, and other Council leaders.
