Kashim Shettima represents the President at the G20 Summit as security concerns keep Bola Tinubu in Nigeria.

The Vice President has departed Abuja. He is going to represent the President at the G20 Leaders’ Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa. He is stepping into the role. The Vice President, Shettima is well-prepared for this responsibility.

This statement is made by Stanley Nkwocha, the Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President Shettima on Communications. He noted that this is the decision of Mr President to stay back in Nigeria. The President wants to attend to the nation’s security concerns, relying on Shettima to handle international responsibilities.

However, the President had postponed his earlier scheduled trip to Johannesburg, South Africa. And he wanted to await further security briefings on the recent security incidents in Kebbi and Kwara States. Meanwhile, he trusted Shettima with the summit duties.

The G20 Summit is scheduled from Saturday, November 22nd, to Sunday, November 23rd. The venue for this years summit is at the Johannesburg Expo Centre. It brings together leaders from the world’s top 20 economies. Participants include the European Union, the African Union, and financial institutions, among others, with Shettima contributing to these significant discussions.

President Cyril Ramaphosa of South African had invited President Tinubu to participate in this year’s edition. More so, Ramaphosa also serves as the current President of the G20 group, and will interact with representatives like Shettima.
