Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated winners of the recent elections conducted in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Kano State, and Rivers State, urging them to serve the people with humility, patriotism, and a strong sense of responsibility.

In a statement released shortly after the announcement of results, Tinubu described their victories as a reflection of the will of the people and a reaffirmation of democratic values. He charged the newly elected officials to see their mandates as a sacred trust and to prioritise good governance, transparency, and grassroots development.

The President also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security agencies, and voters for ensuring a largely peaceful electoral process. According to him, credible elections remain central to Nigeria’s democratic stability and growth.

Tinubu reserved special praise for the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, hailing what he described as his transformative leadership in the FCT. The President noted that ongoing infrastructural development, urban renewal projects, and administrative reforms under Wike’s watch have strengthened public confidence and contributed to the electoral outcome in the territory.

The elections covered area council polls in the FCT as well as by-elections in parts of Kano and Rivers. The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) recorded significant victories across key constituencies, reinforcing its influence in the affected states.

While celebrating the outcome, Tinubu called on opposition parties to embrace democratic principles and pursue any grievances through lawful means. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to deepening democracy and ensuring that elected leaders at all levels remain accountable to the people.
