Senator Ede Dafinone Appointed Chairman of Senate Committee on Federal Character and Intergovernmental Affairs
Abuja, April 22, 2026. Senator Ede Dafinone expressed his gratitude to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, GCON, for appointing him Chairman of the Senate Committee on Federal Character and Intergovernmental Affairs.
Senator Dafinone described the appointment as both an honour and a significant responsibility. He thanked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his leadership and dedication to national unity and inclusive governance, and also acknowledged Senator Akpabio’s continued support.
Senator Ede Dafinone has stated that his appointment is a reflection of the Senate’s commitment to fairness, equity, and balanced representation in federal appointments. He emphasised that the committee will strengthen cooperation among all levels of government in line with the Federal Character principle.
Senator Dafinone pledged to advocate for the interests of the Delta Central Senatorial District at the national level. He committed to expanding access to opportunities and promoting inclusion within key federal institutions.
“Working with my colleagues in the Senate, I will continue to advance unity, justice, and equitable development across our nation,” he said. “Together, we will build a more inclusive, fair, and prosperous Nigeria.”
