Discover Ahmad Gumi’s shocking revelation about being marked for elimination related to Boko Haram and a recent airstrike.
Kaduna-based Islamic cleric, Ahmad Gumi, claimed that someone informed him about being listed for elimination. He was categorized as a Boko Haram figure. This information came on the same morning a US military air strike occurred in Nigeria.
Gumi made the claim in a video while addressing his congregation. The publication went viral through a video that was posted by an X username- General_Somto.
The cleric stated that he received an early-morning call from an anonymous source in Abuja. The source briefed him about a national security meeting.
According to Ahmad Gumi, the caller said to him that his name was among those who were identified for assassination
He said, “I received a call from a top Nigeria official in Abuja who informing me that my name is among those marked by the United States Government for elimination through the American airstrike, as part of Boko Haram. He called on Northern leaders, clerics to speak up against these fabricated lies.” Ahmad Gumi said.
Recall that on December 25, the US launched airstrikes. These airstrikes targeted members of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Sokoto State.
The incident was in accordance to a threat made by Donald Trump that the United States would intervene in Nigeria to wipe out the terrorists killing Christians.”
Ahmad Gumi has strongly criticized foreign military involvement in Nigeria, arguing that the interventions will worsen insecurity rather than resolve it.
“They claim to have come here to fight terrorists, but they are the actual terrorists,” he said.
He questioned the broader narrative surrounding terrorism. He suggested that global powers were partly responsible for the emergence of insurgent groups.
“Even Americans said they came to fight terrorists, so who are the terrorists? He accused the United States of playing a role in the rise of Boko Haram. He said that they are the ones.”
Gumi further alleged that Nigeria’s worsening insecurity and social divisions were fueled by foreign influence. He claimed these were also fueled by policies and narratives he attributed to the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump.
The cleric questioned the response of political leaders in northern Nigeria. He also questioned religious leaders. Their response to repeated attacks by Boko Haram and ISWAP was insufficient. He expressed frustration over what he described as silence and inaction.
“The north, you all know they attacked, but where are your leaders and what have they done about it?” Gumi asked.
He further criticised religious scholars. He accused them of failing to address false claims made by terrorists. They also provided support exclusively to Christians.
“They attacked us for false claims, and they give support of a certain amount of money to Christians alone. No country will accept that. Either you give support to the entire nation, or we don’t need it,” he said.
“It happens, and nobody is talking; they are all afraid to talk. That’s the situation we are in this country,” he added.
