Join Governor Seyi Makinde as he emphasizes unity in opposition parties and the urgent need for national progress ahead of 2027.

Governor Seyi Makinde officially announced his candidacy for the 2027 presidential election on Thursday. He emphasized the urgent need for a national reset.

Makinde made this announcement at a major rally. The rally was held to introduce the political alliance between the People’s Democratic Party and the Allied Peoples Movement.

At the event, the Oyo State governor expressed concern about Nigeria’s deteriorating economic and social conditions. The Governor urged citizens not to remain passive as the country faces ongoing challenges.

He stated that democracy depends on a strong multi-party system. He also called for opposition parties to unite in offering Nigerians a credible alternative.

Makinde noted that Nigerians have reached their limit and emphasized that the opposition must represent citizens seeking improved governance and national progress.

He encouraged Nigerians to take an active role in shaping the nation’s future. In addition, he urged opposition parties to unite to rebuild and reposition the country.

The governor described Ibadan as a “city of warriors” while announcing the PDP-APM alliance. He stated that the partnership would allow both parties to field candidates for offices from the presidency to state Houses of Assembly.

Addressing supporters at the rally, Makinde declared it was time to reset Nigeria and formally announced his presidential candidacy.
